Step 1 | Suitability SurveyOnce you contact us to request a survey we will check your property on Google Earth. This will help us to identify whether your property will be suitable for solar PV. If it's immediately clear that your home won't be suitable, we'll let you know so we don't go on to waste your time.
-
Step 2 | On-site SurveyIf your home looks suitable for solar PV we'll arrange a convenient time to meet with you and carry out a thorough survey. We can talk to you about the likely design of your installation, and answer any questions you might have. In order to properly survey your home we'll need access to your loft and possibly your roof. At the survey we'll look at the following; Direction your roof faces Amount of space available on your roof Pitch of your roof Roof structure, construction and condition Any potential shading issues Condition of your electrical system If you do not have an EPC, we can arrange for this to be undertaken. If we feel an electrical safety inspection is required, this will also be organised. Both these incur cost. Should you decide not to go ahead with the installation, there will be a charge for these.
-
Step 3 | QuotationHaving surveyed your home, we'll go away and prepare a final design of our recommended installation. We will then send you a detailed survey report covering the proposed installation, and our quote for the works. When you're ready to move forward with the installation just let us know and we'll arrange a suitable date to start works.
-
Step 4 | Planning Permissions and InstallationThe installation of your solar PV system will normally take place over one or two days. You can see the full installation process in our FAQ tab.

What is the installation process like?Erecting Access Equipment. We first put up the necessary equipment to access your roof. This gives us a safe environment to work at height. Fitting the roof anchors. The roof anchors will secure the frame the panels sit on to your roof rafters. We use specific anchors best suited to your roof type for each installation. Attaching the frame. Once the anchors are in, we can attach the frame that the panels will be fitted to. Installing the panels. Next, we fit the panels onto the frame. All cables from the panels are secured. If a roof integrated system has been chosen, the area of roof involved has the covering removed and the panels and flashings installed. Roof covering (either tiles or slates) is refitted to the flashings Wiring the panels to the inverter. Having fitted the panels onto the roof we can now connect the DC cabling to the inverter. Connecting the system to your home system. We will prepare the necessary internal wiring to connect your new solar installation to your home's electrical system. For the final electrical works we will have to turn off your power for a short time, but we'll give you plenty of warning. Our electrician will connect it to the existing system, test, and certify this work. Turning on the system. Once all the works are complete we'll turn everything on, commission the system and ensure it is performing correctly. Throughout your installation, if you've got any questions we'll be available to answer them. We aim to make the process as simple and disruption free as possible, and take care to leave your home as we found it.
